Chinese New Year Recipes
Noodle Cake

1 lb. Chinese egg noodles, boiled and drained
2 T canola oil

Heat oil in a large skillet until very hot. Carefully add noodles.
Reduce heat to medium and fry until golden. Flip and fry until golden.
Clams & Broccoli with Black Beans and Garlic

2 lbs manilla clams, rinsed and sorted
2 lbs broccoli florets
1 T canola
1 T (or more) garlic-black bean sauce

Heat oil until it is very hot. Add broccoli and fry to toast,
add clams and sauce. Stir and cover. Cook until clams open up.
Serve with noodle cake.
Ginger Ice Cream

2 inch piece of ginger, sliced
1 quart of half and half
9 egg yolks
1 ½ cup sugar

Boil ginger in half and half. Let steep overnight in fridge.
Return to boil. Combine sugar and yolks. Pour boiling half and half
onto eggs while whisking. Return to pan and cook until lightly
thickened. Strain and chill overnight. Freeze in your ice cream maker.
